Walking tour stop description: "This University Building, on the site of today's Main Building, was first occupied in 1835. It was an imposing Gothic revival structure with a huge stained glass window in the front, part of the 2-story chapel on the 2nd & 3rd floors. Henry James, Sr., H-J's father, rented a room in this building for a short time in 1841, prior to his marriage to Margaret (?) Walsh, H-J's mother."

Henry James's mother was named Mary Robertson Walsh James (1810-1882).
