Walking tour stop description: Trinity Church and its churchyard (also a location on the Musical New York walking tour) served as the setting for a conversation between Nick Carraway (Sam Waterston) and Jordan Baker (Lois Chiles) in the 1974 screen adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby. It also figures prominently in the corporate drama Patterns (1956), which is mostly set in an executive office high above the church.
In this scene from The Great Gatsby Nick and Jordan talk in the churchyard of Trinity Church:
In the opening shot from Patterns we see the spires of Trinity Church as the camera pans up towards the penthouse office where the entire film is set.
