Upon arrival in the East Village I found myself continually wandering between alphabet city to Broadway and Houston to East 14th Street for no real reason in particular during my first few months. I later reaized I had created a rough blueprint in my head for what to find and how much it cost as a way of coping in a new city with much increased pricing of goods and services. This area was my new home and I wanted to become familiar with is as much as possible.
It came as no surprise when this project got started and I began focusing on all of the points within this region. In some ways what had started as an archive of the theaters of Union Square slowly turned into a history of the streets I travelled most around the East Village.
