The Real Time Crime Center, NYPD
The NYPD launched $11 million Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) in 2005. It deals with data such as “120 million New York City criminal complaints, arrests, and 911 call records dating back a decade; five million criminal records and parole files maintained by the state of New York; and more than 31 million records of crime committed nationwide”. (1) The RTCC is a centralized task force, analyzing data and providing data to detectives.
